Ream Resort spearheading Cambodia’s coastal development
The natural beauty and ecological diversity of the Ream area have inspired the Royal Government of Cambodia to declare part of it a protected natural zone. White sand, celadon blue water and luxuriant flora all contribute to the paradisiacal feel of the site. Easy access to first class diving spots and the presence of an abundant bird life make for a fascinating fauna experience. That’s why the New York Times nominated Ream as “Asia’s next trendsetting beach”.
Ream Resort is committed to contributing to the preservation and diversity of its natural surroundings. We consider the richness and allure of the environment as one of our project’s major assets. Thus, it’s only natural that respect for the environment is topping our list of priorities. Innovative natural air conditioning systems and the recycling and treatment of rainwater are just two of our ecological initiatives. A complete tree inventory as the foundation of a tree protection plan is another one.
The first phase of our project has started and sees the construction of a world class five-star boutique hotel, premium villas and luxury condominiums along two kilometres of idyllic beachfront. With their contemporary oriental design, inspired by traditional Khmer architecture, the structures blend effortlessly with their tropical surroundings. Natural materials such as wood, marble stone and compressed bamboo are used in a sustainable manner while providing a rich touch of elegance and quality.
A future extension of 173 ha will be developed in accordance with the same high standards of quality, design and environmental respect. Planned facilities include luxury spas, a championship golf course, a marina and a fishermen’s village.
The nearby island “La Fourmi” will contain a further six beaches and act as a perfect gateway to stunning diving spots in the Gulf of Thailand.
